Between abstraction and representation
Millie Basu-Roy is a London-based artist and secondary-school art teacher whose practice has travelled across countries, disciplines and decades.
She studied Visual Art at Rabindra Bharati University in India before completing postgraduate qualifications in Fine Art at Byam Shaw College of Art and Ceramic Design at Central Saint Martins, London.
Drawing on social experience, landscape and the subconscious, her work explores love, myth and human connection through bold colour and fluid line. Figures surface and dissolve; places become memory; form and impression meet.
